Christine Smith

Christine L. Smith (Cris) is a trademark paralegal with over 20 years experience in the trademark and brand protection area.

Since Cris joined Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel’s predecessor Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld in 2006, she has assisted in the preparation, prosecution, maintenance and enforcement of domestic and international trademarks and domain name registrations.

Cris provides support for Inter Partes proceedings, including oppositions and cancellations, litigation and domain name enforcement proceedings.

Cris has experience as both the client and in private practice. Prior to joining the firm she was the trademark paralegal at Tyco Toys, Inc. and Mattel, Inc. where she assisted in the management of the company’s trademark portfolios worldwide, as well as product packaging and advertising compliance.

Cris has also held the position of trademark paralegal at Tyco International (US), Inc. and Prince Sports Group, Inc., where she began her career in intellectual property law.
